There are many ways to fulfill your two volunteer hours a month. Below
are some activities that will need people throughout the growing season.
Come pan for "black gold," or compost. It's worth its weight in gold (Union Sq Greenmarket sells it for $1 per pound). We promise: you won't get dirty and stinky, and you'll enjoy fresh air, sun, and a little increased muscle tone. It will be a fun learning experience. Please visit the garden and ask for Shirley or Eric Matthews for more information on how you can help.
The perimeter of the garden is always in need of litter patrol. There are regular morning clean-up hours you can join (emailed to the google group and on facebook) or just clean up on your own time. Trash bags are usually available in the shed, or bring your own.
